This is a reconstruction and exterior facelift of an existing 2-storey shopping plaza in Langley BC. A clean, modern and coherent appearance was created by removing all disturbing and confusing structures. The buildings that form the plaza are similar in design and colour. Classical details such as horizontal cornices and vertical pilasters were extensively used. In order to accentuate the horizontal roof line, elevated cubes were placed along the roof parapet. The distincitve use of two contrasting colours (dark and light) visually separates the retail ground floor from the 2nd floor offices, thus making it comprehensible to the observer. Diverging elements of the plaza were bound together by placing a new tower structure at a significant geometrical point, creating a whole ensemble. The tower structure serves as a sign tower.
